In the lap of nature.

It was a fine refreshing morning in the lap of nature with clouds floating over the mountains in front of our cottage. The Kosi River flowing at the foothills made the most melodious song of nature. That’s one of the normal days at Corbett hideaway, near Ramnagar. We stayed in the resort in last week of August 2013. This was our first visit to Jim Corbett national park and we luckily got to stay in one of the finest resorts, that too in a river front- cottage which proved to be the icing-on-cake. It is a wonderfully managed resort with extremely courteous staff and one of the finest chefs. One fine morning my husband literally got into the kitchen to learn the famous’poha’-a north Indian breakfast from the chef. We enjoyed the most delicious meals during our stay. The Corbett national park was closed but we never missed it due to the luxurious stay in the lush green resort. We certainly had an elephant ride one day and a visit to nearby gharjia temple, situated in the middle of Kos...

Letting Go...

She just  couldn't  hold her tears back. She had thought about it million of times in past twenty four hours. Now she was too exhausted and drained. They were ‘letting go’ her best friend. This was what he had mentioned in his medical forms. If he failed to recover from the ventilator after a month, they should wean him off the machine. She thought it had been easy for him. He was not present to bear it all but it had been really tough on her. She had been coming here every single day. She had been sitting by his side, reading him newspaper and stories, sharing their photo albums, talking about their plans to settle down, praying and finally crying, seeing no signs of any activity. The day had finally come. There were only four people in the room- his parents, sister and herself. She stood in the corner while his parents stood by his side. There was palpable sadness in the room. The doctor said, “ I am going to speak aloud the procedure. Even if you all think you are pre...

Mission accomplished..

Everyone was very busy with the preparations. It was the farewell party for twelfth class. Being the head girl of the school she was supposed to do the anchoring, which meant tremendous responsibility. Everyone in eleventh class was supposed to stay in the school till evening and even come the next day, which was Sunday. The main hall had to be decorated, gifts had to be packed and all the programs had to be prepared well. She had to take care of all these things with the help of other girls. The head boy Aram and his team were supposed to take care of the catering and the related arrangements. The best part about coming to school on holidays was, one could come in their most desirable clothes. Rest whole year the school was very particular about the school-dress. She wanted to look her best the next day and took complete fifteen minutes to decide. Finally to feel special she chose a white frill top and long black skirt in contrast. While doing her hair-style the only thoughts th...

meeting after a long pause....

When I booked my seat for the Varanasi gathering-2012 at krishnaurthi  t Different with same core When I booked my seat for the Varanasi gathering-2012 at KFI ( Krishnamurthi foundation), Rajghat I was quite unsure of myself. A friend of mine told me it would be too crowded. So I hesitated a bit. But Shaktiji told me it would be interesting to meet so many people, all different from each other but similar at core." He said.   Although it is crowded during gathering, it is interesting too, as so many people who admire Krishnamurti get together.I feel you will like it. People with different mind-sets, conditioned  differently . It is like visiting an island whose inhabitants we infer as different, but later come to know that they are all almost same as the dwellers of any island. Crowd, yes.” Lucknow to KFI Varanasi     Hence I decided to go to the gathering with an open mind. But whenever the thought of gathering came to my mind, I used to feel appr...

Lost kiss.

Most missed moment of my life (a secret love story) She was delighted        to accompany her rich aunt back to Delhi. Ever since she was young she had seen her aunt as the center of attraction in all the weddings and functions of her house. Today her fancy of visiting her aunt’s place would be fulfilled. Though aunt had grown old, but her expensive jeweler and clothes still flaunted her lavish lifestyle. They finally reached       Delhi and entered the beautiful apartment-complex in one of the porsche areas of city. As soon as she entered the artistically designed modern complex she couldn’t believe her eyes. Well laid parks, people having carefree walks and children having all the fun in the world, made it the perfect place in the world. She was imbibing everything         with awe and admiration when suddenly her heart missed a beat. Was he really there in the lobby? At first she thought she had been mis...
